From 16 th -22 nd May is Mental Health Awareness Week run by Mental Health Foundation. Each year they concentrate on a particular theme, with relationships being the focus in 2016.
We all live in families and communities and are part of society as a whole and our relationships with others are the foundations on which these thrive. Healthy relationships though are also essential to maintaining not only good mental health but can have positive impacts on our physical health too.
I have blogged previously about the links between physical and mental health. The challenge during Mental Health Awareness week is to look at our relationships and make a resolution to prioritise them, to evaluate how much time we spend with others and to work on maintaining them, alongside tackling the barriers to good relationships such as bullying and work/life balance.
